Joshua Tree National Park, CA, 2023

The Perseids Meteor Shower happens once a year when Earth passes through debris from the Swift-Tuttle comet. When the comet particles enter our atmosphere they disintegrate and create fiery streaks in the sky.

The Swift-Tuttle comet is almost twice the size of the object hypothesized to have killed the dinosaurs.
